Health, genetic testing and certificates
Health can be documented. Here is which examinations we carry out, how often we repeat them and what you can inspect at our home.
Examinations before every mating
- Patellar luxation: assessed by an approved specialist, only grade 0 is bred
- Eye examination to DOK standard, repeated annually
- Cardiac auscultation, plus cardiac ultrasound for maltese and chihuahua
- Breed-specific genetic tests: PRA-prcd, vWD I, CDDY, PRA-cord1, Lafora
Veterinary care of the litter
- Pregnancy ultrasound in week 4 and a check in week 7
- Litter inspection by the breed club's warden
- General examination of every puppy at 7 weeks including heart, navel, bite and patella
- Microchipping and EU pet passport before the move
What we disclose
- Original findings of both parents for inspection during your visit
- Copies of all health documents in the handover folder
- Weight curves of the puppies from birth to handover
- Honest information about diseases present in our lines
